MCPS Boundary Study

The reopening of Woodward High School, the new Crown High School and the expansion of Damascus HS have resulted in an ongoing boundary study. The new boundaries could mean changes in middle school and high school assignments for our students. There are currently four potential plans for the new boundaries. Option 1: Frost Middle School and Wooton High School, Option 2: Cabin John Middle School and Wooton High School, Option 3: Frost Middle School and Wooton High School and Option 4: Hoover Middle School and Wooton High School. These options all have different combinations of school feeding into the middle schools and high schools or splitting off into different high schools.

The PTA will send out a separate email with more details and the current four boundary options and our position of which plan we feel will best serve our students.

MCPS has a survey to collect feedback on each of the four options.

MCPS Boundary Study Survey

While these four options have been provided they may change based on feedback. It is important that we stay engaged throughout this process and voice our support for the options that will best serve our students.

See Something, Say Something.

Cold Spring parent and NAACP Montgomery County Parent Council Representative Kristina Weeks, DrPH MHS, is available to provide information and help with any incidents of hate speech or other situations alleging discrimination at MCPS. For any questions about what steps to take, the Memorandum of Understanding with MCPS or how to complete a NAACP Complaint Form, Dr. Weeks may be reached at kweeks8@gmail.com

MCPS would also like any first-hand accounts of hate speech, violence, or discrimination to be reported.

MCPS Family Survey

At Cold Spring, we value our partnership with families and know that your voice plays a vital role in helping us create the best possible learning environment for all students.

We invite you to share your feedback by participating in the Family Survey. This short survey gives you the opportunity to share your experiences and opinions about our school and the broader school district. Your honest input will help us understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

The survey is easy to complete, takes only a few minutes, and your responses are completely confidential. The results will be used to guide our efforts in strengthening programs, services, and supports for students and families.

The survey is open from May 12, 2025, through June 9, 2025.

We deeply appreciate your time and commitment to our school.

School Supply Drive (Flyer HERE)

Our attendance secretary, Ms. Okoroha, is originally from Nigeria. She will be going to visit Nigeria this summer. The very small school of children in her village are in need of books, pencils, crayons, art supplies, scissors, and other school supplies. They do not have a lot and the village would be grateful. We are sponsoring a school supply drive that will run until the last day of school. School supply donations can be dropped off in the front office.
